December 2014 Birchbox Man Unboxing

My last November box to post since it came in November but it is technically the December box!! YAY!!  This one is another great one, too!  This is the monthly subscription I got for my king and he has loved every month so far.  Birchbox Man is $20 a month and is completely customizable and has been spot on for Nick every time.  Click HERE to sign up today!!

Another great box

First up is THANN Nano Shiso Age Inversion Face Cream.

small but packs a punch

This is a moisturizer and while we both have super oily skin in the summer we quickly turn to dry sandpaper in the winter.  He really liked how this made his skin feel but as far as anti aging benefits, well much too soon to tell.  Smells nice and is full of antioxidants and Omega 3's.  This has a hefty $65 price tag so we may never know :)

Next is the big item that each box has.  Suit Supply Steel Tie Clip.

gorgeous blue color

Nick is a blue collar man but I can get him to dress up very nicely on certain occasions.  This tie clip is such a pretty color, the picture alone doesn't compare to seeing it in person.  It is also made of steel so very heavy duty.  Overall it's just a sharp piece!  This is a $45 item so already double the cost of the box this month.

Next is Heroes and Aristocrats by Royal Apothic Ultra Shave Cream Gel.

nice packaging
He hasn't had the chance to try this out yet but he is sure he will like it.  It is a gel that is almost like a cream and is full of Vitamin E to help protect against nicks.  He likes to use his electric razor most of the time but really lathers up when it's time to pull out the razor!  This is also available in 3 scents and he received Scent No. 1 (jasmine, lily, lavender, mandarin and grapefruit).

Next is Ernest Supplies Awake and Exfoliate Body Bar.

perfect for Nick
I know he forgot about this already! I will remind him tonight.  This is perfect for those days he comes home filthy right out of the fireplace! Its full of finely ground lava rock to really exfoliate like a man!  And it's also got peppermint, caffeine and eucalyptus in it to help awaken those senses :)  I'm really excited about this right now!!

And last up is Number 4 Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner.

tiny sample

even tinier sample

Now, I have gotten these in my box before and liked them. However, sample size aside, my husband doesn't have long or thick hair, much less the need to volumize it. So he wasn't thrilled about these and I will end up using them :)  I got excited thinking we would be able to write two reviews and end up getting 60 points to go towards the Birchbox shop but they only let us do one.

So overall, Nick was very happy with yet another box which makes it 3 for 3!  We both noticed that the mailing labels on our boxes this month did not have anything cutesy like in previous months so maybe they only did it for a couple months.

Again, this is a perfect idea for the holidays for a special guy in your life! Sign up HERE!

Birchbox Man November 2014 Unboxing

Always brings a smile to his face

Since ya'll got to see my boxes today I thought I would share my husband's!  I absolutely love that he gets so excited with this subscription I got him and they have been spot on each time with this products.  Always manly and never too feminine.

My honey's goodies

The only unfortunate thing I will say right off the bat is he did not receive his sample choice and I know he was let down by that. I have emailed customer service the confirmation email to see what they say.

Now sure, the item they included was a $50 item but we choose what we choose for a reason.

Cherry Wood Ear Buds
These are from LSTN Headphones Bowery Earbuds. From a work standpoint, he cannot safely use these and really has no use for them so we will probably gift these as I know someone who probably would love them. The reviews on this product were mixed.

Next up is Notting Hill cologne by English Laundry.

Spray top sample

I LOVED this on him. MMMMMM :) Rich, woodsy, musky scent just the way I like my blue collar man to smell.  Ladies, this is a keeper! Get it for your husband! :) Oh and PS he really liked it too :)

Next is DTRT Foam Cleanser.

Face to Face

This cleanser is similar to a shaving cream, in that it is thick and really gets down deep into pores. Since most nights he comes home with his face covered in soot, this will really help.  He is really liking all of these face products targeted to men as they are hard to come by and they have always been really good deep cleansers as their skin is so much different than ours :)

Next up is RUSK paste.

I love this brand myself

My husband won't grow his hair long on the top like I want him to (different convo for a different day haha) but he can still use this texturizing paste and I for sure will be dabbling into this myself! :)

And last up is Basics for Men by Beckman Ultimate Tough Skin Relief.

another nice sized sample
The mans lotion.  My poor husband has very chapped hands and knuckles since they are his money makers.  It's funny even after our wedding pictures were taken I remember my brother in law told him he should have lubed up before the ring pictures :)  This will come in handy for him a lot and it's a nice sized sample too!  We are hoping it is not too perfumey as some of the reviews do say that.

And there ya go!  My honey's box.  Birchbox has tons of specialty pre made gift boxes to select for the holidays or you can gift a subscription.  It is only $20 a month and always, always, always has given us at least a $40 product in each box. You can't beat that.  Click HERE to sign up today to get your box for Christmas!!

What was in your Birchbox Man box this month? I love to compare based on other profiles.  Let me know in the comments below!

Have a great day! xo

Birchbox Man October 2014 Reveal

A few months ago, I got my husband a gift subscription to Birchbox Man.  He is the manliest man around but he still takes great care of himself.  I wanted to give him the opportunity to try new things, which also helps me in the long run on finding birthday and Xmas presents when I find out things that he loves!

Birchbox Man is $20 a month and can be personalized.  It costs more than the women's box but it makes up for that in the products it comes with.  Truth be told, if I was not able to personalize the box I would not have gotten it.  I know what he likes and doesn't like so if it was just going to be a generalized box, I know it would not have worked for him.  This is the third month he has received. The first month was out of the park, last month was so so and this month was another success!  He LOVED it! (Go me!)

The October 2014 theme for Birchbox Man is Fantasy Football (sponsored by The League on FX)! I mean, could that have been more perfect? He loves fantasy football.

Here are all the goodies!

First up is the coolest thing in the box (he can't stop talking about them!)  My husband is a masonry so this was really awesome to see.

W&P Whiskey Stones, valued at $17.

These take the place of regular ice cubes and don't dilute the drink at all.  I mean, who wants a watered down drink? He can't wait to use these.

Next is Das Boom Industries Everything Body Wash.

It smells like a MAN.....it really is heavenly.  My husband loved the way this smelled and wished it wasn't such a small sample.  With bay rum, smoke and dirt it smells earthy...bourbon and leathery.......Smells like he has been outdoors all day but without the mix of sweat and grime.  We will definitely be buying this!

Next is English Laundry Riviera.

My husband has his go to colognes, that he has been wearing since college, mind you.  I am always looking for the next best thing for him to wear on fancy outings.  He liked this smell a lot.  That is saying A LOT.  It is warm and spicy and I like that on a man, especially mine :)

Next is Billy Jealousy White Knight Facial Cleanser.

Nick is really lucky because he has perfect, normal skin.  Which means he can use anything.  So this was good for him to try.  This is plant based and we do try to use all natural ingredients on our face, so were pleased with this.  He only wished it was exfoliating.

Next is Baxter of California Super Close Shave Formula.

He hasn't tried this yet as I love him with some scruff but he has received this brand before and has been pleased.  I like that it has tea tree oil in it for him.

And lastly, we got a deck of playing cards from Bicycle.

At our last Superbowl party, we couldn't find a deck of cards in the house for the longest time so this will really come in handy for when we play poker!  Plus all the cards are "robo" themed.

All in all, again my husband was extremely pleased with this box and it made up for the tiny bit o disappointment he had with last months box.

Birchbox Man September 2014 Reveal

It's that time again!  Now my husband knows what it feels like and why I get so excited when my little Birchbox comes in the mail!  He of course missed the shipping email, so it was a nice surprise.

This month's theme for Birchbox Men is Hit The Books.

Here is what he got!  And at first glance, he was really happy.

Let's get to the breakdown.

First thing he got (and loved) are mini notebooks and pens from Field Notes.

I mean these are a perfect fit for him.  They are all different, too. Perfect size to put in his pockets to write down measurements or sketch a fireplace :) Plus, you can never have enough pens.

Next up, is Dear Clark, Resurrecting Shampoo.

He described the smell as "industrial",  so in other words, it smells good and strong and not fruity or girly. Nick has dry, coarse hair so this is perfect for him.  We love that it's made in Texas (yee-haw).

The next item he is iffy about.  PLANT Face Oil.

We both have oily skin, but I have converted to face oils and it surely doesn't make my face oilier.  I am trying to get him to just try it to see how it feels.  It even says this oil is FOR oily skin and chock full of good stuff.  I think he will like it and I am always right, so we will see :)

Next, he got Imperial Classic Pomade.

I am hoping pomade's aren't the men's version of our mascara's.  Ya know, the ones that every box seems to have? His hair is short in the summer and I try to get him to grow it out longer in the winter, so hopefully this will come in handy then.  But, this is his second pomade in his second box.  This one is extra strength hold so a little different than the first one.

Lastly, a $42 100% cotton Bonobos Pocket Square.

It is gorgeous and I love the print.  But my husband doesn't even know what a pocket square is, much less want one.  Sure, this is a wonderful item if it was appropriate for his profile and this is furthest from it.   We more than likely will gift this, although I suggested using it under a cake or a tray lol.

Overall, he is happy.  I am rating this a 2 out of 5 because I was the one who filled out his profile and this box cannot even compare to last months box which was perfect for him.  Check out that unboxing HERE.

Does your man already get one? What did you think of this month's box?
