January 2015 BarkBox Unboxing

I really can't believe I didn't post last month's BarkBox!!  It wasn't until I just went to write up the unboxing for this month that I noticed it so my sincerest apologies.

Last month there was actually an issue with the billing on our account and BarkBox was so wonderful that they sent us TWO boxes!! Shelby and Paisley lost their minds since they both got the same toy.

For the newbies to the page, everyone in the Miano household gets a monthly subscription so the pups can't be excluded.  BarkBox is a monthly dog box that is filled with treats,toys, apparel, etc., all based on your dog's weight. The box is $29 a month and is so worth it.  We get to find healthy, organic things that we might not come across and really awesome toys that aren't extremely marked up like at the stores.  If your dog loves an item, there is an easy re order code in the box that you just text to BarkBox and they charge your card on file and ship it to you!  If you don't like something, or the babes don't, you can also contact them about a replacement item!  They have STELLAR customer service.

So here is the box for January!

First, LOOK at that fuzzy adorable toy.  That is actually called a R2Pet Monster.  He squeaks and the girls love him and the fact they both have one to shake to death.  This is valued at $10.  The maker of the toy was actually left off of the card so I can't give credit where credit is due.

Our girls love fish, like their mama.  The Aussie Natural Alaskan Sockeye Strips blew their mind. They are nice and large and take Shelby (the puppy) much longer to eat than Paisley.  But sometimes I think it is survival of the fittest and that is why Paisley inhales her treats.  These are valued at $8 for a bag.

Okay so the weird looking thing in front did freak me out.  It is a "krunchie tube" which is really just a cute word for a dried trachea.  Dogs will eat any part, they are by no means picky.  We let our older dog have this instead of sharing with the puppy.  Even though the "puppy" weighs more than she does.  This is made by Butcher's Block Pet Treats and is valued at $2.

Caru Real Beef Stew.  An all natural version of an old classic.  Full of Omega's and fatty acids and deliciousness.  They loved this.  Valued at $6.

And last up for this month are Max and Ruffy's Blizzard Bites.  These are molasses and ginger treats and they actually smell really good.  I think Shelby liked these more than Paisley did so they surely won't go wasted on us.  These are valued at $5 for a bag.

This month's value was $31 which is actually fairly low based on previous month boxes.  However, from my POV, we got 2 boxes so we really did well this month!!  I will have this month's box up shortly, the toy they got this month I can't get Shelby to put down!!

The other thing I admire about this company is that 10% of every box sold goes to dogs in need.  This includes rescues, shelters, military dog organizations, search and rescue teams, low cost spay and neuter programs and many many more.

December 2014 BarkBox Unboxing

First up is the toy that they both went crazy for.

In fact, this was the best picture I could get since they took it away from my hand once I took it out to photograph it :) It is a highly durable squeaker toy and they play with it every day.

Next toy, surprisingly didn't creep me out too much, since elves usually do.

Quaker elf, $10 value.

What's neat is that the arms actually slide out so there are three pieces to this toy.  Sadly, we did lose the elf about a week after though, it wasn't as durable as we thought, especially to a teething rottweiler.

Next is a super cute, reversible, bandanna.

Safemade Holiday Tartan bandanna, $8 value.

Now to the treats.

Bocce's Bakery lumps of coal, $7 value.

These heart shaped treats are wheat based.

Shelby loved them but Paisley did not really care for them.

Luckily, she loved these treats.

My Doggy Happy Holiday treats, $5 value.

These are made with cranberries, apples and honey.  Huge hit!

I was stoked to see a skull chew toy, I mean that is so awesome. But it got better.  Wait until you see.....

They played with these toys all night long.  It was so cute and mommy and daddy got some peace.

Next up is the treats!

Baker's Best Autumn Harvest Treats, valued at $10.

These are made with goat liver, Italian olive oil and oat flour.  They weren't Paisley's favorite but Shelby inhaled them.  They are little squares so perfect training treats for her.

Max and Ruffys Pumpkin Patch Bites,valued at $4.

Organic pumpkin treats that they loved.  I mix pumpkin in Paisley's food sometimes so I knew she would love these.

And lastly, Heartland Premium Weasand Strips,valued at $3.

This is made with 100% cow gullet......so not appetizing to me but I know Paisley will love this.  

So the total value of this box is $40!  That is a great value.

BarkBox Unboxing September 2014

If you know me by now, then you know I love my dogs.  Paisley and Shelby are my fur babies and they are absolutely wonderful! Filling our lives with laughter and keeping us on our toes!!

What's great about BarkBox is you get to tell them the size of your dog.  So you aren't going to get toys and treats that are general, you are going to get things that suit your pooch.  It's $29 a month but they always have some type of promotion going on (which is actually why the girls are getting it for two months).  Plus it is so hard to know what is safe and not safe for the health of your dogs nowadays and knowing they have already done the research helps out a lot!

So I chose large breed dog knowing whatever came in the box Shelby was going to end up getting some of too!  All boxes get shipped out on the 15th of the month and of course I forgot so was super excited to see it on the porch today!

Let's get to the goodies!

First up is the toy!  It is by Loopies and is a fish bone toy.

It has a squeaker in it and the girls are nuts about it.  They have not stopped playing tug of war with it, which PROVES how durable this toy is! Great choice for large breed dogs.  This is a $15 value!

Okay next is what I am super excited about!  Mr. Barksmith's Pina Colada smoothie!  A smoothie for dogs!!

As you can see, super healthy, too.  That is very important to me in everything they eat.  They will get this tomorrow since they have had some of the other treats in this box tonight :) This is valued at $2.

Next is what they have already had tonight and LOVE!  Healthy Dogma Coconut Barkers.

They are like their father and like coconut as I do not.  And yet again, more healthy treats.  Plus they are large biscuits and perfect for the girls.  Valued at $8.

More treats! Bixbi Daily Essentials Chicken Breast Jerky Treats.

Paisley is fancy and loves salmon jerky so I am sure she will love this too! Valued at $10.  As you can see the cost of the box has already been met and I still have another item to go!  That makes me very happy!!

This I will only give to Paisley though so Shelby doesn't choke.  Etta Says Duck Chew.

A wholesome chew that although is probably supposed to last a long time, my girl will get through it in no time!

So there ya go!  We have another box coming next month and I know they are super excited to see what comes since this month was such a success!!
