Yes, I know today is January 7th and I am writing a post about holiday gift ideas. But there was a delay in me receiving my samples. :)
We all know I am a loyal customer to Markwins products and have promoted their brand and products for a few months now. Today, I am going to tell you about a product that I was a little disappointed in.
Mini Nail Salon
I was really excited about getting this because I kind of already have a mini nail salon at home with all the polishes I have....
This gift idea, exclusive to Wal-Mart stores, comes with 6 nail polishes and a battery operated nail dryer. Just like the ones they have at some nail salons.
The polish is all very pretty and actually sits on top of the dryer so it doubles as a holder and is perfect for traveling. It really is perfect for those hard to shop for "tweens" nowadays and comes with a variety of trending shades.
Polishes
And underneath is where you put your hands and push down and the fan dries your polish.
Press here....
The polishes weren't of bad quality but the amount of strength it takes to push down to get the fan going is what got to me. You literally need to push down with all of your body and using the pressure in your fingers is not easy to do. I will use the polishes but don't think I will be using the dryer function as often.
I will continue to stay local to Markwin and always try out their products but I don't know how easy this would be for some of the younger girls that might want to use it.
I haven't tried it with my toes yet.....hmmmmmm.......

Have you seen this line at your local store? Have you tried it yet?
Let me know what you think in the comments below!!
A few months back I did a post reviewing makeup that was sent to me by Markwins featuring a new makeup line by the band, One Direction. Check it out HERE. Sure, I am a country music lovin, rock and roll girl but I love my fair share of pop music and we all know I LOVE makeup! So I was glad to receive these products to review! I am even happier to offer you all the chance to win your own! So keep reading and find out how! In fact, this giveaway is just in time for the holidays and can be a stocking stuffer for a special little girl in your life :)
Okay, so let's get to it!
Here are all the items that were sent to me for review!
1 of 5 limited edition makeup tins
Goodies inside each tin
Liquilights glow lip gloss
Electroglam Mascara for lashes and hair
Rock me nail varnish with glitter pots
Okay so I like to consider myself on top of fashion trends and am always willing to try new things, however extreme they may be. And I definitely am not too old to rock any of these colors and I hope you guys feel the same way! If you are not as bold, then I just hope you enjoy the reviews of the products.
First up, the limited edition makeup tin. I said 1 of 5 as each band member has their face on a tin.....ah....I would love to have my face on a makeup tin....I would also love to be a famous singer, but that is a post for another day. "Dreams and Aspirations by Brooke Miano".

The kit also includes a black eye pencil (I Want-true matte black), lip gloss top coat (Over Again-silver sparkle glitter) and two eye shadow applicators and a lip gloss applicator. The shadows are all smooth and go on very nice, without a lot of fallout and the lip glosses are also smooth and not sticky. Nail polish did a great job with two applications and it's 3 in the afternoon and still no chips in it and my eye shadow is still in place :)

Okay now let's look at swatches of the other items I received.
Here is the lip gloss, which I am in love with! The shimmer and the colors are so beautiful! And these actually glow under UV lights, which is really cool :)
Kiss You-orange glitter rush lip gloss

Once you add these toppings to the polish, they also react to UV lights! Where was all this stuff when I was clubbing? :)

Recently, I partnered with another awesome company, BrandBacker. They are similar but yet different from some of the other companies I work with. Usually I let my "partners" know what I am interested in and they send me products to review but BrandBacker has all of my information and the companies and their available opportunities come to ME!
First up to review and talk about is the Midnight Memories Makeup Collection by ONE DIRECTION. Now, yes, I am a country western rocker chick, but I LOVE makeup. This specific collection was sent to me for my review and to offer my insight on the products provided and I think it is the collection that suits my taste the most! At first glance, their makeup is fun, bold and affordable.
There are three different collections, which are geared towards different types of girls, and they all come in collectible tins. Are you a rock n roll girl (Midnight Memories), fun party girl (Up All Night) or the girl next door (Take Me Home)?
Here is what is included in the Midnight Memories collection! It also comes in a great tin that is autographed by the group and a packet of stencils for body art!
The liquilights glow gloss in "Through The Dark" sparkles brilliantly in the day and illuminates under a UV black light...where was this in my 20's?? And a nice creamy bright crimson red lipstick in a shade ("Best Song Ever") perfect for this fall.
The eye makeup comes with four velvety, pigment-rich shadows and a bold glitter creme shadow. These are actually great colors that can be worn day or night, for work or for play. And the metallic nail polish in silver ("Right Now") matches perfectly!
The chubby black liner pencil ("Better Than Words") can be worn as eyeliner or shadow and the carbon black, volumizing mascara ("Little Black Dress") has a nice wand that separates the lashes nicely.
The eye shadow has a bit of fall out but the colors make up for that. They are really pretty.
Palest Warm Grey-"Little White Lies"
Soft Pink Shimmer-"Don't Forget Where You Belong"
Metal Grey-"Half A Heart"
Charcoal Black Matte Shimmer-"Strong"
Silver Creme Glitter-"Midnight Memories"
Here is the eye look I created! And the shadow stayed on all day!!
The entire line will be available worldwide starting in the US.
