October 2014 BarkBox-Halloween Edition

Last month there was a promotion going on so I signed up for BarkBox for the babes.  I mean we are a family of subscriptions after all :) Here is last months breakdown and really gave us a great first impression.

The details......BarkBox is a monthly sub for your dogs, all breeds and sizes.  Depending on the size of your dog determines what they will get.  It is $29 a month but of course if you use my link to sign up, I can give you 10% off!  Click HERE to sign up!  I love it because I usually make my own treats and surprises for the girls and BarkBox has not only vetted all the treats they send but they also send a variety of toys, gadgets and other fun stuff.

If you like something, you text the reorder code and they mail it out to you. BAM! Plus this month they announced, if you don't like something, you send it back and they send you something else out. I mean, I cannot say enough great things about BarkBox!

Let's get to the goodies :)  Paisley and Shelby must have remembered last months box because they freaked as soon as they saw it this month.  This is the Halloween BarkBox Edition :)

Let me apologize first for the pictures you are about to see.  I could barely take a picture of each item because my girls were giddy with excitement :) which I can relate to because that is how I am when my subs come.

I was stoked to see a skull chew toy, I mean that is so awesome. But it got better.  Wait until you see.....

Durable plastic chew toy.  So nice to see quality toys being sent especially with a teething puppy in the house.

This next toy is the coolest toy I have ever seen.

It is described as bubble wrap for dogs! I mean my girls absolutely LOVED this toy!! And it wasn't annoying so thanks BarkBox!

They played with these toys all night long.  It was so cute and mommy and daddy got some peace.

Next up is the treats!

Baker's Best Autumn Harvest Treats, valued at $10.

These are made with goat liver, Italian olive oil and oat flour.  They weren't Paisley's favorite but Shelby inhaled them.  They are little squares so perfect training treats for her.

Max and Ruffys Pumpkin Patch Bites,valued at $4.

Organic pumpkin treats that they loved.  I mix pumpkin in Paisley's food sometimes so I knew she would love these.

And lastly, Heartland Premium Weasand Strips,valued at $3.

This is made with 100% cow gullet......so not appetizing to me but I know Paisley will love this.  

So the total value of this box is $40!  That is a great value.

BarkBox Unboxing September 2014

If you know me by now, then you know I love my dogs.  Paisley and Shelby are my fur babies and they are absolutely wonderful! Filling our lives with laughter and keeping us on our toes!!

What's great about BarkBox is you get to tell them the size of your dog.  So you aren't going to get toys and treats that are general, you are going to get things that suit your pooch.  It's $29 a month but they always have some type of promotion going on (which is actually why the girls are getting it for two months).  Plus it is so hard to know what is safe and not safe for the health of your dogs nowadays and knowing they have already done the research helps out a lot!

So I chose large breed dog knowing whatever came in the box Shelby was going to end up getting some of too!  All boxes get shipped out on the 15th of the month and of course I forgot so was super excited to see it on the porch today!

Let's get to the goodies!

First up is the toy!  It is by Loopies and is a fish bone toy.

It has a squeaker in it and the girls are nuts about it.  They have not stopped playing tug of war with it, which PROVES how durable this toy is! Great choice for large breed dogs.  This is a $15 value!

Okay next is what I am super excited about!  Mr. Barksmith's Pina Colada smoothie!  A smoothie for dogs!!

As you can see, super healthy, too.  That is very important to me in everything they eat.  They will get this tomorrow since they have had some of the other treats in this box tonight :) This is valued at $2.

Next is what they have already had tonight and LOVE!  Healthy Dogma Coconut Barkers.

They are like their father and like coconut as I do not.  And yet again, more healthy treats.  Plus they are large biscuits and perfect for the girls.  Valued at $8.

More treats! Bixbi Daily Essentials Chicken Breast Jerky Treats.

Paisley is fancy and loves salmon jerky so I am sure she will love this too! Valued at $10.  As you can see the cost of the box has already been met and I still have another item to go!  That makes me very happy!!

This I will only give to Paisley though so Shelby doesn't choke.  Etta Says Duck Chew.

A wholesome chew that although is probably supposed to last a long time, my girl will get through it in no time!

So there ya go!  We have another box coming next month and I know they are super excited to see what comes since this month was such a success!!

10 "Other" Monthly Subscription Boxes for under $30

Ya'll know about the beauty and craft monthly subscriptions boxes that I do each month.  And even though you like to see the unboxings and find out where to get the items, they may not be your cup of tea.

Sooooo, I found 10 other unique monthly subscription services that may appeal to you and your lifestyle or you just found a great giftable box for the person who has everything!

I surely don't want to spend more than $30 a month on something (unless it is valued at over $100 in products), so I thought maybe you didn't either.  I also had some people asking me what other types of subs are out there.

So here goes!!

The first one is My Cotton Bunny.  This is a monthly subscription that bundles your choice of feminine hygiene products with goodies to get you through your visit with Aunt Flow!! My girlfriend just did her review on her box this month.  Read it HERE.  Okay, personally, I think this is a pretty awesome box. It is $16 a month and comes with stuff to stuff your face and make you feel pretty, along with feminine hygiene products :)

For the perfume lover, Olfactif.  I know that for me, I LOVE getting my perfume samples in my beauty boxes each month.  So for $18 a month, you get 3 different samples that are 2.25 ml in a spray vial.  That equals about 15-20 uses.  Plus you get a credit towards a full size purchase.

Next up is for the dog lover, BarkBox.  Each month you will get a box with 4 or more carefully selected products (i.e. toys, treats, cleaners and more!).  It is $19 a month and 10% of the proceeds for each box go to a rescue group.  That is superb!!!

For the cat lover, WhiskerKits.  It is $29 a month and 10% of each box also goes to rescue groups.  Each box comes with 5-6 goodies, treats and toys.

For the young kiddos, there is CitrusLane.  Your box comes with 4 or more products specific to your childs age and stage and is $29 a month.

For the older kiddos, there is Kiwi Crate.  A monthly sub is $19.95 (plus shipping and handling) and comes with all materials and inspiration for up to 3 activities to do with your child.  There is a new theme every month.

For the foodies, there is Blue Apron.  This box starts at $9.99 per person, per meal and comes with fresh seasonal ingredients, low calorie meal recipes and can be done weekly.

UrthBox is a snacking box but can be gluten free, vegan or diet and is organic and GMO free.  It is $19 a month and is up to 30 items at a time.  That's a lot!

How about a personal shopper box? That is what Stitch Fix is.  Create your style and get 5 hand picked items.  Keep all or none and send back what you don't want, for free.  The styling fee is $20 a month and will be applied towards whatever items you keep.  If you keep all 5, you will get 25% off your entire order and they also let you choose a budget.

For the Gamers, there is Loot Crate.  Only $13.37 (plus shipping and handling) for up to $40 in items (retail value).  They have a theme each month (this month is Villians and use that code for 10% off)  and come with gear, collectibles, tech gadgets, games, accessories, and more.  Check out past boxes.
